Source provenance, documented market context and limitations of comparison.

VISM is positioned in a market with real overlaps across agent governance, runtime authorization, observability, AI SRE, incident workflows and delivery controls. This page preserves the technical book’s source provenance and its explicit comparison limits.

How to read the category map

The source categorizes tools as direct competitors, adjacent competitors or substitutes according to documented overlap—not benchmark results. Human approval, agent gateways, graph context and post-deploy verification are not claimed as exclusive ideas. The product hypothesis is a state-transition contract that connects recovery evidence and cross-tool enforcement.

Source and comparison limits

The references are public documentation/product sources as listed in the source book. They are not hands-on tests. An unconfirmed documented capability is not treated as absent, and VISM itself is a design-stage proposal rather than a proven benchmark winner. Re-check live source pages before external pitching or a vendor decision.
