USE CASES

Begin with a narrow transition you can prove.

The VISM design starts where ownership, evidence and recovery can be made explicit. The scenarios below are illustrative workflows, not existing customer deployments.

SCENARIO 01

AI-assisted Kubernetes scaling

A service owner allows an agent to propose a replica change during demand growth. The request is useful only if the shared dependencies can sustain it.

Current workflowAgent recommends or executes a scale based on observed load.
RiskA broadly permitted scale skips database, API, quota, cost or rollback constraints.
VISM interventionBind the change to target UIDs, evidence freshness, capacity reservations, a staged plan and each verification window.
Expected benefitMake the smallest evidenced dependency ceiling visible before a large scale becomes an effect.

SCENARIO 02

AI-generated production deployment

An agent prepares an image rollout. The question is not whether a deployment tool can run, but whether the exact digest, rollout path and recovery branch are approved.

Current workflowAgent suggests an image change or opens a deployment action.
RiskMutable tags, changed payloads, schema incompatibility or a missing rollback plan can invalidate the review.
VISM interventionSeal a plan with image digest, target UIDs, stages, verification rules and recovery requirements.
Expected benefitLink a human decision to the same effect that the adapter is allowed to send.

SCENARIO 03

Controlled remediation during incidents

When a service is degraded, speed matters—but incident pressure should not turn an unbounded proposal into root authority.

Current workflowOn-call teams inspect signals, then run a remediation or rollback.
RiskPartial information, stale telemetry and expiring authority can compound the original failure.
VISM interventionUse a constrained recovery plan, live preflight, explicit stop/reconcile semantics and independent verification.
Expected benefitPreserve a defensible path through fast action, uncertainty and recovery evidence.

SCENARIO 04

Enterprise AI infrastructure governance

Platform, security and service owners need a common decision record when agents participate in production operations.

Current workflowAuthority is distributed across agent tools, cloud roles, approvals, tickets and monitoring.
RiskNo single record proves which plan, authority, effect and evidence were connected.
VISM interventionRecord an append-only transition chain with plan, approval, permit, effect and verification artifacts.
Expected benefitMake accountability and audit export part of the same control path rather than a reconstruction exercise.
